Turn trash to treasure this Saturday at UR's annual Big Yard Sale

May 15, 2018

The University of Richmond’s annual Big Yard Sale takes over the turf at Robins Stadium this Saturday, May 19, from 8 a.m. to noon. The sale will offer thousands of gently-used items donated by students during move-out week including small household appliances, clothing, books and more.

“The Big Yard Sale saves thousands of pounds of waste from heading to the landfill each year,” says Rob Andrejewski, director of sustainability. “UR staff and community volunteers work tirelessly to make valuable items available to community members at fantastic prices.”

Items will be divided between the East and West Concourses in Robins Stadium. The East Concourse will have small appliances, chairs and floor lamps. The West concourse will have clothing, bedding, school supplies, kitchenware, home décor, small electronics, books and more.

Proceeds from the sale benefit University of Richmond student sustainability groups and the Falls of the James Group of the Sierra Club. Any items not sold are donated to Goodwill, another partner in the event.

All transactions for the sale are cash or check only. Credit cards are not accepted.
