University of Richmond to Host Supplier Diversity Events

August 17, 2018

The University of Richmond with Barton Malow will hold two supplier diversity events this fall, a training program and a networking breakfast.

Barton Malow is the lead contractor for two projects at UR – the Well-Being Center and the basketball training facility.

The Steps for Success Training Program is a series of four 2-hour classes for contractors on estimating, scheduling, marketing, and proposal development. The classes will be held 6-8:30 p.m. Sept. 18 and 25 and Oct. 2 and 9.

“The University of Richmond has an ongoing commitment to strengthening its ties to the local community,” said Jean Hines, director of strategic sourcing and payment. One of the ways Richmond does this is through its Supplier Diversity Program, which supports small, women- and minority-owned businesses.

On Nov. 12 a networking breakfast will be held from 8-10:30 a.m. at which participants will learn about business opportunities available related to the two projects.

There is no cost to attend, registration is required by Aug. 31. Register here: https://www.richmond.edu/supplier-diversity/index.html.
