UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND — The Fiske Guide to Colleges, a leading college guidebook, has selected the University of Richmond for its 2021 edition.

Each year the guide profiles more than 300 of the “best and most interesting” colleges in the country, including information about each college’s academics, social life, student body, financial aid, campus setting, housing, food, and extracurricular activities.

The guide notes that the University of Richmond is “a force for progressive liberal arts.” Additional accolades include:

  • Richmond is “a pioneer in leadership studies and continues to expand its international emphasis.”
  • “UR boasts a top undergraduate business school lodged within a liberal arts institution.”
  • “Students describe the academic climate as intense but collaborative.”

Sentiments shared directly from students include:

  • “My anthropology professor from my freshman year has been like my second mom for the last three years. I know it’s hard to believe, but every student here has at least one professor that they have this special kind of mentorship with.”
  • “Students at UR are generally friendly, academically driven, and very involved.”

The guide also highlights UR’s living-learning programs, career services, and The Richmond Guarantee, a signature program offering traditional undergrads guaranteed funding of up to $4,000 for at least one summer research or internship experience.
