Growing Up in Civil Rights Richmond: A Community Remembers, a new exhibition organized by University of Richmond Museums, pairs oral histories with photographic portraits of 30 Richmond residents whose lives were altered by their experiences as children and youth during the civil rights movement.
Mariela Mendez, University of Richmond associate professor of Latin American, Latino, and Iberian Studies, and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, has been awarded a $20,000 collaborative grant from the Chilean National Commission on Scientific and Technological Investigation to research feminist contributions in Latin American and American magazines.
