Professor Strait among faculty selected to participate in Tocqueville Faculty Seminars series
Dr. Patricia Strait, chair of the Human Resource Management program, was selected as one of twelve faculty members to participate in the Tocqueville Faculty Seminars series to take place here at University of Richmond in the Spring 2010 term.
The series, which is funded by the Mellon Foundation, explores the global connections between the United States and other countries.
Strait's research will involve cross country comparisons of immigration practices and policies, and their impact on labor markets and government services.
Upon completing the Tocqueville seminar, each faculty member will design and teach an interdisciplinary course on a topic of his or her choice. Each scholar will also receive a course release along with a grant of $4,500; additional funding of up to $3,500 for international travel may also be granted.
Read the University press release, "Mellon Foundation grant will create Tocqueville Seminars series on America as seen at home and abroad at University of Richmond", for more information about the Mellon grant and the seminar series.
