Culture Klatsch on "Gender and Leadership" Mar. 27
Date: Mar. 27, 2008
Time: 3:00 p.m.
Location:
Think Tank, Tyler Haynes Commons
Whether your preferred metaphor is a glass ceiling or a labyrinth, there is something about gender and leadership that seems to point to particular obstacles for women. While Dee Dee Myers, White House press secretary under former president Clinton, can write a book about why women should rule the world, women leaders hardly dominate the political scene. Where have women had a powerful impact in national and international politics? Why is it that countries as diverse as Chile, England, Germany, India and Liberia have or have had women leaders while the U.S. has little to show in the political sphere for all its claims of gender equality?
Come hear what students have to say and share your perspective at the "Gender and Leadership" Culture Klatsch on Thursday, March 27 from 3-4 p.m. in the Think Tank. All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served. Culture Klatsch is sponsored by the Department of Modern Literatures and Cultures and the Office of International Education.
