Keesha Trim, GB'19, elected to national Risk Management Association board
Keesha Trim, GB’19, currently serves as the director of risk management for the University of Richmond. While managing the University’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, she was elected to the international University Risk Management & Insurance Association board of directors.
According to its website, the University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA) is an international non-profit educational association serving colleges and universities. Its core purpose is to promote the advancement and application of effective risk management principles and practices in institutions of higher education. Its membership includes thousands of professionals at more than 600 institutions of higher education and 100 companies supporting those institutions.
Trim has also been selected to participate in the Leadership Metro Richmond Quest Program. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Leadership Metro Richmond, a regional leadership development and service group, has selected 57 people for its next flagship Leadership Quest program.
The Leadership Quest is a 10-month program that starts this month with monthly classes and events. The program gives participants a deeper understanding of the region along with ways to be better engaged in the community.
Trim has served as director of risk management for nearly six years, Formulating the University’s strategy for risk management, keeping current with trends in both the insurance industry and higher education. Prior to joining the University of Richmond, Trim worked at University of North Texas, serving as risk analyst, insurance and claims manager, and assistant director of insurance and claims. She received an MBA from the Richard S. Reynolds Graduate School of Business in 2019.
