Robins Peer Mentoring Initiative

Thanks to students like Isabel Cayer, ’22, Robins students are more connected than ever. She helped jumpstart the Robins Peer Mentoring Initiative this year.

“In this initiative, interested first and second year students have the opportunity to be paired up with a junior or senior as their mentor,” Cayer said. “Mentees can ask these upperclassmen any and all questions they may have about the business school. From classes and majors to networking opportunities and internships- this program can be used to discuss whatever mentees/mentors want.”

The goal is to provide students with a network of peers from whom they can receive advice and form relationships with, all while fostering a more inclusive and welcoming environment within the business school, Cayer says.

The initiative, which started in August, currently has 140 students participating. Cayer sends out a newsletter to participants each month, with a theme for them to focus their discussions around. November’s theme, for example, is course registration.

“Many mentees have questions about what courses to take and want to hear from another Robins student's perspective based on their own experiences,” Cayer said.
