SPCS graduating class of 2021 includes 14 UR employees

In the School of Professional & Continuing Studies graduating class of of 2021, 14 graduates completed their degrees as employees of the University of Richmond. A valuable benefit of working at the University is tuition remission for degree-earning coursework. Most, but not all, of these employees used their tuition remission benefits to complete their degrees.

The following Richmond employees were recognized for degrees earned in December 2020, May 2021 and August 2021 during SPCS Commencement Exercises on May 8, 2021.

Emily Ball, C’21, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts degree. Ball works as an SPCS student specialist in the University Writing Center.

Rachel Bringewatt, GC’21, earned a Master of Education degree. Bringewatt works as a Fitness Trainer in UR’s Wellness Programs.

Jessie Buford, GC’21, earned a Master of Nonprofit Studies degree. Buford works as a Box Office Manager in the Modlin Center for the Arts.

Ray Donahoo, C’21, earned a Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies major in Human Resource Management. Donahoo works as a Floater Manager in Heilman Dining Center.

Leah Downey, GC’21, earned a Master of Nonprofit Studies degree. Downey works as an Administrative Assistant for Alumni Events in Alumni Relations. 

Slade Gormus, GC’21, earned a Master of Human Resource Management degree. Gormus works as a Nursing Supervisor in the Student Health Center.

Ingrid Hale, GC’21, earned a Master of Nonprofit Studies degree. Hale works as a Seasonal Application Assistant in Undergraduate Admissions.

Cindy Kennon, C’21, earned a Certificate in Applied Studies in Information Systems. Kennon works as the Associate Director of Financial Reporting for the Spider Management Company.

Fess Khan, GC’21, earned a Master of Human Resource Management degree. Khan works as a User Server Project Coordinator in Information Services.

Dru Marsh, C’21, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts degree. Marsh works as a Line Service Associate in Heilman Dining Center.

Rosemary Nicholson, earned a Certificate in Applied Studies in Paralegal Studies. Nicholson works as an Administrative Coordinator in the Chemistry Department.

Katy Olney, GC’21, earned a Master of Human Resource Management degree. Olney works as an Administrative Specialist in the School of Law.

Crissy Poindexter, C’21, earned a Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies degree. Poindexter works as an Office and Catering Specialist in Heilman Dining Center.

Blake Stack, GC’21, earned a Master of Nonprofit Studies degree. Stack works as the Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Operations in the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement.

A total of 18 staff members earned degrees during 2021 Commencement Exercises for the five schools of the university. Additional degrees were earned in the School of Arts & Sciences and the Robins School of Business.
