The Visible Scholars: Drs. Tim Barney and Rob Nelson

March 28, 2018

The collaboration between the Digital Scholarship Lab and the First Year Seminar, “The Rhetorical Lives of Maps,” is now in its 4th year. Drs. Rob Nelson and Tim Barney discuss the creation of three interactive DSL maps that trace American power around the world. From embassy establishments to military installations to presidential travel, these maps demonstrate the complex global reach of U.S. presence, and they also show the value of student involvement in the cartographic process. This program is co-sponsored by the Digital Humanities Faculty Learning Community and it is part of the 2018 Data & Culture Lecture Series.
