SPCS Alumni Update

Yasmin Gregg, GC’19, who earned a Master of Nonprofit Studies through SPCS in 2019, was accepted into the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) annual Inclusive Fundraising Fellowship earlier this year and became a co-facilitator for the Cultural Responsiveness Committee at ChildSavers.

The AFP Inclusive Fundraising Fellowship provides inclusion-oriented education, training and networking activities and one-on-one mentorship for Central Virginia-based nonprofit professionals. As a fellow, Gregg meets with other cohort members each month to learn how to implement community centric fundraising principles and promote equity within the sector. The cohort will have a culminating presentation when the program ends in January.

Gregg is the Development Operations Officer at ChildSavers, a Richmond nonprofit that provides children's mental health services and child care resources. She recently created the mission and vision statement for the Responsiveness Committee at ChildSavers. She is also the recently appointed project manager for a racial equity grant ChildSavers received. Gregg and her team are collaborating with agency leadership to create a comprehensive racial equity plan for the entire organization.

The SPCS Master of Nonprofit Studies offers an advanced level of knowledge and leadership development for nonprofit managers, for those seeking to transition from positions in the corporate sector and for those who seek to lead or establish a nonprofit organization.
