SPCS Alumni Update

Padraic Hampton, who earned his master’s in education through the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies (ELPS) program in 2018, recently was named the assistant principal of Walnut Hill Elementary School in Petersburg City Public Schools. Known for his advocacy for all students, Hampton is a valuable member of the Walnut Hill Elementary School team.

Hampton previously worked as a teacher in both Richmond City and Chesterfield County public schools. Hampton earned a bachelor’s degree in special education and teaching from Virginia State University in 2014. After graduation, he became a teacher in the Richmond City public schools system and, later, in Chesterfield County.

The SPCS ELPS graduate program is designed for educators seeking an administration or supervision endorsement for leading a public school in Virginia along with those who seek positions of leadership in nonpublic schools. The ELPS program offers a master’s degree (M.Ed.) track for students who have already earned a bachelor's and a graduate certificate track for those who have already earned a master’s.
