Dr. Andrew Schoeneman, chair of the SPCS nonprofit studies program, was promoted to associate professor of nonprofit studies on the recommendation of Dean Jamelle Wilson and upon approval by the Board of Trustees.

Blake Stack, GC’21, was named Senior Associate Director of Student Engagement and Director of the Bonner Scholars Program in the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) last year. Stack is a 2021 graduate of the SPCS Nonprofit Studies program.
At the spring semester SPCS faculty meeting on January 5, 2023, Associate Dean Tom Shields announced the hiring of three new adjunct faculty members for spring 2023.

During finals week 2022, five students from the master of nonprofit studies program presented their capstone research projects as their culminating experience in the program.
Unpacking the Census, a partnership between the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities and the University of Richmond, examines structural inequality through census research. On November 7, the project celebrates ten years, shares new research, and engages in conversation with regional experts.
Over the summer and into the current fall semester, Partners in the Arts (PIA) has been utilizing its REB Award funds to pilot the Joan Oates Institute for Integrated Learning (JOIFIL) model of educator and community expert side-by-side training, planning, and in-school implementation.
