Dr. Richard Coughlan

MBA Community:

A funny thing happened on the way to finalizing this edition of the newsletter. We ended up with one story on a student who just landed a terrific job at LinkedIn and another story on a student who is co-founder at UnBoundRVA. (I am sure a few of you noticed that the roots of the names of these two organizations are antonyms.) And in the middle of those two stories is one about a group of alumni who have remained connected through a book club.

MBA programs are all about establishing new linkages but they are also about our students freeing themselves of old ways of thinking. Learning how to simultaneously connect and disconnect seems like a reasonable goal for students as they make their way through graduate school. I hope you enjoy the stories we have offered.

"Opening Residency was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but also one of the most rewarding. Everyone worked so hard and became really good friends in the process."
