The University of Richmond has won a 2012 Educational Fundraising Award for Overall Improvement from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

Factors considered included growth in total support, growth in each program area, donor growth among alumni and individual donors, impact of the 12 largest gifts on total support and overall breadth in program areas.

The award is based upon analysis of three years of fundraising data from the Voluntary Support of Education Survey. More than 1,000 higher education institutions were eligible for consideration. CASE made 30 improvement awards, including Richmond and five other institutions in the private liberal arts category.

“This award is a recognition of University of Richmond as belonging to a small group of universities able to provide examples of best practices to the advancement profession overall,” said Tom Gutenberger, vice president of advancement at Richmond.
