April 4, 2013

Virginia Lawyers Media has selected Nancy Bagranoff, dean of the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond, as an “Influential Woman of Virginia” for 2013. The awards program recognizes efforts of women in the commonwealth in all fields, including education, business, the arts, law and health care.

Bagranoff became dean of the Robins School in 2010, after serving as dean and professor of accounting at Old Dominion University’s College of Business and Public Administration since 2003. She previously was president of the information systems section and vice president for education of the American Accounting Association. She has served on BB&T’s Norfolk Advisory Board and on the boards of the Virginia Maritime Heritage Foundation; Organization of Women in International Trade, Hampton Roads Chapter; Economics Club of Hampton Roads; CIVIC Leadership Institute of Hampton Roads and Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.

The 44 honorees were selected following a statewide nomination process to identify women “who are making notable contributions to their chosen professions, their communities and society at large.” The honorees will be introduced at a gala luncheon on May 16 and profiled in a special publication of Virginia Lawyers Weekly on May 20.
