The University of Richmond’s all male a cappella group, the Octāves, has been nominated for three 2014 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards. Winners will be announced at a banquet and red carpet ceremony April 12 in Boston.

The group’s nominations include Best Male Collegiate Album, for the recent album, “Ricochet;” Best Male Collegiate Song for “Never Close Our Eyes;” and Best Soul/R&B/Hip-Hop Song “No Church in the Wild.”

The awards are sponsored by the Contemporary A Cappella Society, which was formed to create a community between singers and fans of contemporary a cappella. The organization has been making awards since 1992. Octāves music director Jared Feinman and former president Jackson Taylor, both Richmond seniors, will attend the event.

The album “Ricochet” is available on iTunes or at
