University of Richmond selected as a 'Great College to Work For' by Chronicle of Higher Education

July 20, 2015

University of Richmond has been selected as one of this year’s “Great Colleges to Work For” by The Chronicle of Higher Education. This is the first time Richmond has received the honor.

University of Richmond was cited for distinction in one of 12 special categories — Facilities, Workspace, and Security.

The Princeton Review ranks the university No. 3 for "Best Science Lab Facilities” and No. 20 for "Most Beautiful Campus" in its 2015 edition of "The Best 379 Colleges." Technology-focused classrooms and other spaces enhance academic learning and professional development.

The Chronicle of Higher Education’s Great Colleges Program is designed to recognize institutions that are great places to work and to compile detailed benchmarking data about industry trends.

“The program provides us with an opportunity to reflect on our strengths and areas of opportunity as we work to meet our shared goals,” said Crutcher. “The perspectives of our faculty and staff will help us strengthen and enhance our community.”

The university first participated in the survey in 2010. Feedback received served as a catalyst for such initiatives as the implementation of flexible work arrangements and the addition of short-term disability benefits.
