University of Richmond’s Jepson School of Leadership Studies will host Vivian Pinn, the 2017-18 Jepson School Leader-in-Residence, for a presentation on “Women’s Health and Biomedical Leadership: From Tradition to Equity.”

Pinn is the senior scientist emerita at the National Institutes of Health and retired founding director of the NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health. She is a longtime advocate for women and minorities in biomedical science careers. She is a 1967 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where she was the only woman and only minority student in her class. University of Virginia formally dedicated its main medical education building as Pinn Hall in her honor in October 2017.

The event is Feb. 13 at 4:30 p.m. in the Jepson Alumni Center. The event is free and open to the public but advance registration is required. A reception will immediately follow.
