University of Richmond maintains No. 2 ranking for study abroad programs
For the second year in a row, the University of Richmond is ranked second for the total number of students sent to study abroad among top baccalaureate colleges in the Institute of International Education’s “Open Door Report.”
Undergraduate UR students choose from more than 70 semester or yearlong programs that can take them to more than 30 countries. Nearly 70 percent of UR undergrads participate in a study abroad program.
Additionally, UR is ranked seventh among baccalaureate colleges in total number of international students. These students come to Richmond from 79 different countries.
“The strength of UR’s international engagement is a reflection of our institution-wide emphasis on global learning,” said Martha Merritt, dean of International Education. “We strive to expose our students to new and challenging cultures and environments, which contributes to our success as a leading liberal arts institution.”
