Junior pursues his passion for music while studying business
May 3, 2011
Thomas King, '12, came to the University of Richmond to pursue his love of music — without letting it consume his life.
King, who is studying accounting and finance in the Robins School of Business, takes time out of his full schedule to play saxophone and flute in the UR Jazz Ensemble. He decided to attend Richmond because of the liberal arts opportunities available to follow multiple paths. In the last three years, King has completed math research, traveled to Australia, Costa Rica and Greece, and played in the jazz band.
"It's just mind-blowing all the things I've been able to do," he said. "That really is why I'm at Richmond. There's so much opportunity for you if you just reach out and find it here."
