Professor Joel Eisen Presents Award-Winning Article

January 27, 2012

Professor Joel Eisen will present his award-winning article "Residential Renewable Energy: By Whom?" at a Vanderbilt Law School conference at noon on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, designed to spotlight the article. The article has been honored by the Environmental Law Institute and Vanderbilt Law as one of the top four environmental law articles of 2011.

In the article, Eisen proposes a "solar utility" model in which companies dedicated to large-scale entry into the residential solar market provide solar panel systems at little or no cost to homeowners and - similar to cable and phone companies - are promoted by the federal government.

Joining Eisen to comment on his article are conference invitees Reagan Farr, Vice-Chairman and COO, Silicon Ranch Corporation; Matthew Kisber, President and CEO, Silicon Ranch Corporation; James Purcell, Energy Services Manager, Nashville Electric Service; and Stephen Smith, Executive Director, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy. The presentation is co-sponsored by Vanderbilt Environmental Law Program, the Environmental Law Society, and the Climate Change Research Network.
