Jane Dowrick, Osher Institute director, nominated to council of the American Society on Aging

Jane Dowrick, director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Richmond, was recently nominated to serve on the LEARN Council, a leadership committee of the American Society on Aging (ASA).

Dowrick will serve a two-year term that began April 1. As a member of the LEARN Council, Dowrick will assist in providing leadership, technical assistance and program development recommendations for the ASA network.

Duties of Council members include helping to establish and implement a yearly program plan and long-term direction for the Council and participating in the planning, development and execution of outreach efforts, webinars, fundraising efforts and the Council’s Aging in America program.

The Osher Institute is a member-based program of the School of Professional & Continuing Studies that provides academic and social experiences for learners “50 and better.” The Institute at the University of Richmond is endowed by the Bernard Osher Foundation.
