Sandra Peart named president of the International Adam Smith Society
Sandra J. Peart, dean of University of Richmond’s Jepson School of Leadership Studies, has been named president of the International Adam Smith Society. She will serve a three-year term.
The society encourages interdisciplinary scholarly interest in Adam Smith’s writings and in issues connected with his writings, provides a forum for sharing research and scholarship relating to the political economist and social philosopher and sponsors The Adam Smith Review, a scholarly peer-reviewed journal published by Routledge.
A national leader in her field, Peart has special expertise in the history of economic thought and political economy, especially in the context of ethical leadership. Her books include F. A. Hayek and the Modern Economy; The Street Porter and the Philosopher: Essays on Egalitarian Economics; and The ‘Vanity of the Philosopher’: From Equality to Hierarchy in Post-Classical Economics, named a Top 10 Outstanding Academic Title.
