Speakers named for Professional and Continuing Studies 2014 Commencement Exercises

During the School of Professional and Continuing Studies SPCS Night honors and awards ceremony on May 7, 2014, Dean James L. Narduzzi named the student, faculty and alumni speakers for the School’s May 10 Commencement Exercises.

Ryan J. O’Rourke, earning a Bachelor of Arts in liberal arts, was named student speaker. O’Rourke is an area manager in the wine and spirits division of River City Distributing in Louisville, Ky., and is among graduating students with the highest GPA as of the end of the fall 2013 semester.

Carrie A. Ludovico, adjunct instructor of liberal arts and SPCS librarian, was named the faculty speaker. Ludovico was named faculty speaker as the recipient of the Itzkowitz Family Distinguished Adjunct Faculty Award, an honor earned by nomination of the SPCS student body.

Catherine S. McGehee, director of the upper school of St. Catherine’s School in Richmond and recently appointed head of school at Foxcroft School in Middleburg, Va., was named the alumna speaker. McGehee is a 2011 graduate of SPCS, where she earned a Master of Education in educational leadership and policy studies. She was named alumna speaker as the recipient of the Gibb Family Distinguished Alumni Award.

SPCS Commencement Exercises are held in the Robins Center on the University of Richmond campus at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10.
