International Film: Aliyah

Aliyah (France, 2012) is the international film for the weekend of November 14. Alex lives in a working-class Parisian neighborhood and sells drugs for a living, continuously paying off the debts of his brother Isaac. A chance to put this life behind him arises when his cousin announces plans to open a restaurant in Tel Aviv. Torn over leaving, Alex finds his back against the wall and prepares to make the next fateful step toward an uncertain future.
