International Film Features O Mestre e o Divino

The International Film Series features, O Mestre e o Divino, a 2013 film from Brazil on November 13 and 15. Divino is an indigenous Brazilian and Adalberto a German missionary living for more than 50 years among the Xavante people. Brought together by an interest in filmmaking, this odd couple is devoted to documenting the daily life of the Xavante people in western Brazil. But, their relationship isn’t without contention. This documentary captures the humor, conflict, and mutual respect they share despite vastly different worldviews.
