Thad Williamson, associate professor of leadership studies and philosophy, politics, economics and law, speaks about his new role as senior policy adviser to Richmond Mayor Levar M. Stoney.

Williamson created and directed the Office of Community Wealth Building for the Jones administration.

He had returned to academia for less than a year when Stoney hired him as senior policy adviser for opportunity, and he will focus on very similar issues but at a higher level and drawing in more city departments.

Williamson: "I think it’s an opportunity to help a new mayor be as successful as possible and to do everything I can to help them bring to fruition some of the commitments that were made during the campaign."
