Tracey Zaval, GC'17, named teacher of the year for 2017 by state social studies council

Tracey Zaval, GC’17, was named Virginia Council for the Social Studies (VCSS) Teacher of the Year for 2017 during the VCSS annual conference in November.

Zaval graduated with a master of education in educational leadership and policy studies from SPCS in December.

The award builds on Zaval’s stellar career as an educator. In 2014, she was named Chesterfield County Public Schools Teacher of the Year and Virginia Region 1 Teacher of the Year.
