Recent events in Middle East topic of community conversation
February 8, 2011
Why are so many people protesting in the Middle East? Will there be changes in U.S. policy toward the Middle East? What role did social media play in the recent protests in Egypt?
A discussion Feb. 10, 6-8 p.m. in Jepson Hall 103 will give members of the University community a chance to gain insight into these questions, share perspectives and discuss recent events.
The conversation will be led by leadership studies professors Liz Faier and Karen Zivi, Arabic and Middle East studies professors Walid Hamarneh and Martin Sulzer-Reichel, history professor Yucel Yanikdag, and Dalya al Hasani, a Fulbright Scholar from Palestine.
The discussion will be informal and invite audience participation. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome. For more information, contact Liz Faier at firstname.lastname@example.org.
