Students invited to apply for international scholarship

University of Richmond students are invited to apply for a $1,500 scholarship from the Women in International Trade (WIIT) Charitable Trust scholarship program. The deadline is July 15. 

The program is designed to provide financial assistance to further educational objectives of women who are interested in international development, international relations, international trade, international economics or international business.

Two scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded (one for an undergraduate female student and one for a graduate female student) for the summer or fall 2010 semester and the spring 2011 semester. Each recipient will also receive one year free membership in Women in International Trade (WIIT).
 
Eligibility Requirements

  • Be currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. university or college, either full-time or part- time.
  • Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible; undergraduates must be between 17 and 22-years-old, and graduate students must be between 23 and 30 years old
  • Demonstrated interest in international development, international relations, international trade, international economics or international business
  • Be a woman

Selection Criteria

  • Awards will be based on quality of the assigned essay.
  • The selection committee will pay close attention to the candidate’s interest in international trade issues.
  • Awards are made without regard to race, creed, color or religion. WIIT reserves the right to revise, suspend or discontinue this program without notice.

Winners will be notified by August 15, 2010 for fall 2010 applicants and November 15, 2010 for spring 2011 applicants.
