Walpole native interns at electronic music public relations firm through University of Richmond summer fellowship

August 6, 2015

Matt Vandini, ’17, of Walpole, Mass., is working as a public relations intern at Infamous PR in Los Angeles, through the University of Richmond’s Summer Fellowship (URSF) program.

Infamous PR is dedicated to serving the needs of the electronic music community and works with both established names and emerging talent. Vandini, a film studies and psychology double major, supports these goals by writing posts for music websites, developing media pitches, compiling reports on media coverage and assisting with press releases.

Vandini says one of his favorite parts about this summer experience is having the opportunity to make connections with people at different media outlets. “I’m really hoping all the work I’m doing this summer will help me gain credibility, establish myself in L.A. and develop valuable relationships within the industry,” he said.

This summer, hundreds of UR students are completing summer fellowships through The Richmond Guarantee, a University promise to provide access to fellowship funding for one summer research or internship experience for all traditional undergraduate students.

“I cannot explain how grateful I am for the summer fellowship program,” Vandini added.  “The program is absolutely incredible, especially for anyone who wants to work at a small company or in entertainment since those internships are often unpaid.”
