UR to Hold Vigil for Victims of New Zealand Mass Shooting

March 22, 2019

The University of Richmond Office of the Chaplaincy and Muslim Students Association are holding an event to honor the victims of the massacre at two New Zealand mosques. The vigil is March 26 at 6 p.m. on the Forum, located near Heilman Dining Center.

Following the gathering, a conversation will be held in the Wilton Center for Interfaith Campus Ministries next to the Chapel.

“We are grateful for the rich culture and faith our Muslim students offer Richmond,” said University Chaplain Craig Kocher. “We grieve with our Muslim community and stand in unity and love with all people of goodwill following these horrific attacks.”

UR is also celebrating Islam Awareness Week next week. More information about events next week is available on the chaplaincy website.

Everyone is welcome to participate in these events.
