October 16, 2019

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND — Theresa “Terry” Baker will serve as the University of Richmond’s executive director of dining services.

Baker, a nationally recognized leader in dining services, currently serves as a trustee for the National Association of College and University Food Services and brings 25 years of experience in higher education dining to UR.

“I’m so impressed with UR’s operations — the quality of healthy, fresh choices, the incorporation of diverse international flavors, the sustainable business practices, the student-focused customer service — it’s all excellent,” Baker said.

Baker previously served as dining services director at the State University of New York-Cortland, overseeing all residential, retail, concessions, and catering activities. Prior to her role in New York she spent nearly nine years at Oklahoma State University as dining services director, overseeing a program that included 31 dining operations, $24 million in annual revenue, and served more than 23,000 students.

“This year marks 40 years since UR brought its dining services in house,” said Mark Detterick, senior associate vice president for campus operations “ With her experiences and seasoned perspective, Terry will build on the university’s strong foundation of award-winning success and guide our team into this exciting next chapter of dining at UR.”
