Students completing coursework for the Master of Nonprofit Studies degree are presenting capstone projects this week.

Rodney White, C’12, has received the Mark Gornik Excellence Award from the Virginia Department of Corrections for his work in reentry.

Rebecca Thompson, GC’14, has been promoted to principal at Tomahawk Middle School in Chesterfield County Public Schools, where another SPCS alum, Charlee Breeden, GC’18, has been named associate principal.

Sue Goodwin, GC’21, has been named to the Board of Directors of ReEstablish Richmond, a Richmond-based nonprofit organization focused on helping refugees settle into Richmond while maintaining ties to their home culture.

The School of Professional & Continuing Studies has expanded its discount on academic coursework for University of Richmond alumni. The Spider Spirit Alumni Discount offers a 25% discount on an entire program of study or an eligible class for University of Richmond graduates.

Padraic Hampton, who earned his master’s in education at SPCS in 2018, recently was named an assistant principal at Walnut Hill Elementary School.

The School of Professional & Continuing Studies has extended the Spring 2022 application deadline for admission to all undergraduate and most graduate programs to December 13.
