The University of Richmond Media and Public Relations team works with national and local reporters to advance the recognition and academic reputation of the University of Richmond. They connect faculty and staff with reporters to share their expertise. The team includes:

Cynthia Price, Director of Media & Public Relations

Cynthia has helped placed opinion pieces and quotes from UR President Ronald A. Crutcher and faculty and staff, particularly in the Robins School of Business, in The Washington Post, USA Today, Fast Company and more.

An expert in crisis communications, reputation management and media relations, she began her career as a newspaper reporter and then launched a business magazine for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. She spent a decade as the spokesperson for an urban police department with high-profile cases that often-made headlines. She also led communications efforts, including its rebranding, for ChildFund International.

Cynthia has served as president and in numerous board roles for the National Federation of Press Women and Virginia Professional Communicators. She is a board member of the College Communicators Association of Virginia and D.C. and  an active member of the Richmond Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

Sunni Brown, Assistant Director of Media & Public Relations

Working closely with the STEM majors out of the School of Arts and Sciences and Richmond School of Law, Sunni prides herself on communicating complex information in a way that is easy for anyone to understand. Her efforts have resulted in placements in The New York Times, National Geographic, Voice of America and more.

Before coming to UR, she served as the media spokesperson for the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. Earlier in her career she worked as an anchor and reporter at two Virginia TV stations.

Sunni’s beats include: STEM majors in the School of Arts & Sciences, the Richmond School of Law, the Digital Scholarship Lab, the School of Professional & Continuing Studies and awards, grants and fellowships for faculty, staff and students.

Lindsey Campbell, Media Relations Specialist

Lindsey Campbell is the newest member of the team. She has secured media placements in Voice of America, Wallet Hub, Richmond Times-Dispatch and more.

She previously served as the Communications Account Coordinator for the School of Arts & Sciences and assisted in identifying and securing media opportunities to showcase faculty experts.

She began her career in media and public relations working on teams at Advanced Auto Parts, Serco Inc., Virginia ABC and VDOT.

Lindsey’s beats include: Arts and humanities majors in the School of Arts & Sciences, the Bonner Center for Civic Engagement, Career Services, the Jepson School of Leadership Studies, International Education, Sustainability and Wellness.
