John Butt, academic and career counselor, publishes article in Career Convergence magazine

May 11, 2012

John Butt, academic and career counselor in the School of Professional & Continuing Studies, has published an article in the Career Convergence, the online magazine of the National Career Development Association (NCDA).

The article, titled “Career Services and the Non-Traditional Student,” presents academic and career services provided by the School as an exemplar for other schools to examine and emulate.

Specifically, the article examines the proactive advising model that Butt and other members of the School’s office of enrollment management and student services implement. Updated application requirements, which include a current résumé, enable advisors to tailor academic advising to career goals and objectives.

Butt’s article will be the subject of a roundtable discussion at the 2012 NCDA Global Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Ga., on June 22, 2012.

Butt is also a student in the School’s Master of Human Resource Management program.
