Students earn massage therapy studies certificates, prepare for national certification exam

Six students received professional certificates through the School of Professional and Continuing Studies Massage Therapy Studies program during a graduation ceremony held August 10, 2012.

The 729-hour course of study prepares graduates to take the national Certified Massage Therapist certification exam and become a Certified Massage Therapist™. CMTs are certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).

The School of Professional and Continuing Studies Massage Therapy Studies program is approved by NCBTMB to offer coursework toward certification. The School’s program exceeds NCBTMB coursework requirements.

This is the School’s first graduating class. Members of the graduating class are:

  • Margaret Corcoran
  • Marshall Chavis Fore
  • Deborah Hollandsworth
  • Anthony Marsh

The Massage Therapy Studies program offers full-time and part-time certification courses for those interested in becoming a Certified Massage Therapist. The program also offers continue education courses for current CMTs who need coursework toward recertification.
