All eyes will be on New York as the presidential candidates go head to head in their second debate. The format will be "town hall" style, in which audience members are selected to ask questions.

The "town hall" format for presidential debates started right here in Richmond. 20 years ago, at the University of Richmond, the nation got a chance to see the candidates in a way that had never been used before; a format that's become so important, it's been used in every presidential election since.
