Educational leadership professors introduce national conferences to UR/VCU EduLead partnership
Dr. Kate Cassada and Dr. Tom Shields, professors of educational leadership in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies, are introducing national conference attendees to EduLead, a University of Richmond/Virginia Commonwealth University partnership, at two separate events in November.
EduLead is a partnership in educational leadership development among local school divisions, corporate partners in education, the University of Richmond Center for Leadership in Education (CLE) and the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Education Department of Educational Leadership.
Cassada and Shields led three separate sessions at the 39th Annual Conference for Middle Level Education in Portland, Oregon.
- EduLead: Leaders in Transition Summer Institute and the Leadership Coaching Project – Pairing Programming for Principal Success
- EduLead: A Regional, Non-Traditional Model for Leadership Development
- EduLead’s Partnering for Excellence Program – A Middle Level Principal, Corporate Community and University Collaboration
In addition, the two will present a session at the 2012 University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA) Convention in Denver, Colorado.
- EduLead: A Paradigm Shift in Leadership Development. This is an IGNITE! Session, which feature collaborative approaches to leadership development.
Shields will also be the chair and discussant for a session on Turnaround Schools: Leadership, Policy and Lived Experience, which will feature some of EduLead’s work in Louisiana.
