Alumni & Career Services join Professional & Continuing studies to hire career advisor for SPCS academic programs

The University of Richmond Office of Alumni and Career Services and School of Professional and Continuing Studies have collaborated to hire Brandy L. Ewell as career advisor for SPCS students and alumni of academic programs.

Ewell earned a master’s degree in career counseling from University of Maryland – College Park and brings to the position over twelve years of experience coordinating career services in educational and corporate environments. She will be working through June to assist SPCS students and alumni with their career development needs.

Ewell is a certified Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), and she earned her MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) Charter Certification in 2002. She also works as a distance career counselor for the Populus Group through ReadyMinds and has worked as career counselor and assistant director of the University of Richmond Career Development Center (CDC).

SPCS students currently in, or alumni of, academic programs are eligible for career services. Topics Ewell can address with SPCS students and alumni include the following:

  • Career exploration
  • Writing resumes and cover letters
  • Mock interviews
  • Personal branding
  • Job search strategies
  • Networking
  • Preparing for the SPCS Career Fair (April 4)

Students interested meeting with Ewell to take advantage of these career services can meet with her by appointment. Ewell offers office hours on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
