Disaster Science graduate publishes article on secure data recovery in industry journal

Charles “Chip” Greene, GC‘11, has published an article on security vulnerabilities in data recovery procedures in the Disaster Recovery Journal.

The article, titled “Thanks for Recovering... Now I Can Hack You,” addresses security vulnerabilities that may exist in recovery procedures focused more on data reclamation and integrity than on data security. It appears in the winter 2013 issue of the journal.

Greene is a former Richmond employee, where he worked in information security for the University. He now works at VCU Medical Center. Greene earned his Master of Disaster Science degree at the University of Richmond in 2011.

Greene has 25 years of experience in various technology sectors. He works as a senior information security analyst responsible for identity and access management.
