February 19, 2015

Rob McAdams, Partners in the Arts program manager, has been selected to teach a class titled “Engaging Creative Thinkers: Integrating Creative Practices across K-12 Curricula” at the Project Zero Perspectives conference Atlanta, Ga. The conference will be held May 8-10, 2015, at the High Museum of Arts and the Atlanta International School.

Project Zero is an education research group in the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University. Project Zero partners with the Center for the Advancement and Study of International Education (CASIE) to offer professional development and learning opportunities for domestic and international educators.

McAdams describes the course he will teach at the conference as follows:

We will explore creativity practices and learn how to integrate those practices into all classrooms as the fundamental tools that transform curricular content into objects, ideas, expressions, forms, and languages that students can better comprehend. By contextualizing curricular content through arts integration students become engaged and empowered in their learning and retention of content improves. No visual, performing, or literary arts experience or talent is necessary, but participants should come prepared to discover the world and develop and communicate ideas through those tools.
