SPCS graduating class of 2018 launches Commencement class gift campaign

April 11, 2018

The School of Professional & Continuing Studies (SPCS) Student Government Association (SGA), on behalf of the SPCS graduating class of 2018, has launched the 2018 Commencement class gift campaign.

The 2018 Commencement Class Gift campaign goal is to achieve 100% participation among students graduating or walking in Commencement 2018.

Funds raised during the class gift campaign help support SPCS scholarships, an important resource that supports SPCS students in their efforts to earn or complete undergraduate and graduate degrees. Over $100,000 in scholarship funds are distributed each year, and the amount distributed continues to increase as a result of fundraising efforts like the annual class gift campaigns.

In her letter to graduating students, SGA president Kimberley Payne, C’18, has issued this challenge to members of the graduating class of 2018:

Your gift, no matter how big or small, will help to support scholarships and programs for adult students in the future. The goal is to have 100% participation from the class of 2018. Never in the history of the University of Richmond has any class reached this goal. Let’s make history and be the first! I challenge you to join me in continuing a legacy where students support other students.

Graduating students are encouraged to contribute the unique amount of $20.18 to commemorate their graduation year, but any amount contributed counts toward the 100% participation challenge.

All members of the SPCS community, and not just graduating students, are invited to participate in the 2018 Commencement Class Gift campaign. Gifts may be given in honor of a student’s graduation or some other milestone deserving recognition.

The 2018 Commencement Class Gift campaign runs from now through Commencement 2018 on May 12, 2018.
