Area CEOs of small and mid-sized companies still optimistic, but trade tariffs cause some worry (Richmond Times-Dispatch)

Top executives with small- and medium-size companies in central Virginia remain mostly positive about the economy, but trade tariffs imposed by the Trump administration are causing some worry, according to a recent survey.

About half of the chief executive officers who responded to a recent economic outlook survey by the Virginia Council of CEOs and the University of Richmond said they expect to see a “somewhat negative impact” as a result of tariffs. About 6 percent expect a “large negative impact.”
