Partners in the Arts invites proposals for Engaging Creative Thinkers funding

January 24, 2019

Partners in the Arts (PIA) is pleased to announce that it is now accepting proposals for the PIA Engaging Creative Thinkers Award program. This funding supports teacher training, consulting and implementation of interdisciplinary projects that integrate creativity in the classroom while serving as models of partnership among schools, artists, and community professionals.

Teacher teams are invited to propose a project that incoporates a variety of tools to research, explore and engage topics based on PIA¿s three conceptual frameworks:

  • Community History: Explore history, possibly of the school, local community
  • Environmental Exploration: Explore watersheds, climates and ecosystems.
  • Community Inquiry: Explore, research and solve a community problem or concern

Partner with University of Richmond experts, like award-winning National Geographic journalist Don Belt and local teaching artists like Maggie Smith from CodeVA and hip-hop artist Black Liquid to collaboratively integrate creativity across your curriculum.

The proposal deadline for projects that will occur during the 2019-20 school year is 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2019. Please visit our PIA ECT Awards page for more information, including eligibility criteria. Visit the application page to learn more about the application process.
