Next Generation Leadership Academy for school leaders wraps up 16th year of leadership training
Next Generation Leadership Academy has successfully wrapped up its 16th year of bringing current and aspiring school leaders together on a journey to examine leadership theory and practices that are meaningful in today’s schools.
This year NGLA expanded its reach by welcoming four new partner divisions: Amelia County Public Schools, Caroline County Public Schools, Goochland County Public Schools and Powhatan County Public Schools.
These division joined long-time NGLA collaborators Chesterfield County Public Schools, Hanover County Public Schools, Henrico County Public Schools and Richmond Public Schools.
NGLA participants explored the following topics related to school leadership throughout the academy:
- “Leading During Uncertain Times” led by Dr. Michelle McQueen-Williams
- “What is Leadership?” with Dr. Kim Bridges
- “Emotional Intelligence” with Dr. Michelle Beavers
- “Trauma Responsive Practices in Schools” with Dr. Erik Laursen
- “Coaching to Impact Change and Promote Sustainable Growth” with Dr. Kate Cassada
