Lisa Thompson, GC'11, principal of Washington-Henry Elementary, earns R.E.B. leadership award

Lisa Thompson, GC’11, principal of Washington-Henry Elementary School in Hanover County, has been named the Hanover County Public School winner of the 2021 R.E.B. Award for Distinguished Educational Leadership, receiving a cash grant along with funds for creating a sustainable outdoor learning environment.

In being named a winner of the award, Thompson receives cash grant and her school receives $20,000 to create a sustainable outdoor learning environment that will become a permanent footprint of Washington-Henry Elementary.

The R.E.B. Awards for Distinguished Educational Leadership, funded by the R.E.B. Foundation and the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond, seek to recognize public school principals who go beyond the day-to-day demands of their position to create an exceptional educational environment.

Thompson earned a master of education in educational leadership & policy studies in 2011 through SPCS.
