SPCS temporarily relocating offices from Special Programs Building to North Court

September 23, 2022

SPCS offices housed in the Special Programs Building (SPB) are temporarily relocating to North Court effective September 26 for the remainder of the 2022-23 academic year. The relocation enables a full renovation of SPB office and classroom spaces, including the space previously occupied by the Student Health Center and COVID-19 testing.

As a result, the street and mailing addresses for SPCS have changed effective September 26 to the following:

School of Professional & Continuing Studies
421 Westhampton Way
University of Richmond, VA 23173

Most relocated offices, including the main reception area, student advising and full-time faculty, will be housed on the 2nd floor of the office section of North Court. Full-time faculty and adjunct faculty mailboxes, along with staff mailboxes, will also be housed on the 2nd floor of North Court.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will housed on the first floor of North Court in room 102. Members may contact the Osher office at 804-287-6608 for parking recommendations when visiting.

SPCS Education faculty and staff remain housed in North Court. Teacher licensure and curriculum and instruction offices are housed on the 3rd floor, while education leadership offices are housed on the 1st floor.

After-hours weekday access and weekend access to SPCS offices in North Court will be limited to SPCS faculty and staff and will be controlled by card access. Office hours will remain the same, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. except on university holidays.

Here are a list of commonly visited offices that may help you navigate to the right location in North Court.

  • Reception (Theresa Keefe): NC 211
  • Summer School (Cheryl Genovese): NC 210C
  • Student Advisors: NC 204 (Tammy Alexander) and NC 206 (Mary Catherine Raymond)
  • Osher Institute: NC 102 (Peggy Watson, Nell Smith, Amy Edwards, Catherine Taylor)

The following full-time faculty members have relocated offices on the 2nd floor of North Court.

Other full-time faculty retain the same offices they’ve held.

As always, if you have questions, please contact our office at 804-289-8133. Phone numbers are not changing during the renovation.

We will return to SPB in the late spring or early summer, depending on the speed of construction. We’ll provide an update, and an invitation to visit our renovated spaces, once the renovation is complete.

Map

You may find the following map helpful as you navigate to our temporary office locations. This is an inset from the main Campus Parking Map. The drawn red line shows vehicular navigation from SPB to North Court visitor parking. Be aware that there are stairs from the parking lot to North Court, and that the North Court office complex does not have an elevator to reach 2nd floor offices.
