Cynthia Cooper, CEO, author and Time 'Person of the Year,' to discuss ethical leadership Nov. 5

Cynthia Cooper, internationally recognized speaker, best-selling author and CEO of TheCooperGroup LLC, will discuss ethical leadership, Nov. 5, 6 p.m., at the University of Richmond’s Queally Hall, Ukrop Auditorium.

Cooper’s presentation, “Ethical Leadership for the 21st Century,” will focus on what individuals can do to promote ethical leadership and how to build a strong ethical foundation to achieve sustainable success. She will share her personal experiences and discuss practical strategies to help sort through ethical dilemmas when making decisions.

Cooper was named one of Time magazine’s Persons of the Year for her role in uncovering the fraud at WorldCom, one of the largest corporate frauds in history. She was also one of 25 influential working mothers featured in Working Mother magazine. She is an internationally recognized speaker, with clients including Dell, Walmart and AT&T.

Cooper is a recipient of the Maria & Sidney E. Rolfe Award for contributions to educating the public about economics, business and finance, and she was the first woman to be inducted into the AICPA Hall of Fame and to receive the American Accounting Association’s Accounting Exemplar Award.
